Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well! I thought I’d fill you in on a little day trip Sam and I went on with my parents on Saturday.

We went to the beautiful Swallow Falls in Betws-y-Coed and had such a lovely day. It was actually, fun fact, the first time Sam had met my parents!

I know, it took us over a year…

We didn’t manage to go to the actual falls (because nobody had a 50p and the entry machine didn’t give change) so we walked along the river instead.

Even though it was cold, it was beautiful!

Sam took this picture of mum and me. I absolutely love it!

It’s my favourite picture of me and my favourite lady.

Mum took this of me and Sam and it officially my favourite picture of us now. I think he was bit nervous but he looks super cute ūüėČ

To be fair, I can’t actually believe how well he hid his nerves. Maybe it was obvious for everyone else but I couldn’t tell at all! (If it weren’t for the fact that he held onto my hand tightly pretty much all day…¬†Love you babe!)

It was so lovely to see mum and dad again. Even though I call them on the phone, it’s not the same as seeing them in person.

I took these photos them by the river. It’s my dad’s natural habitat – he pretty much lives in the wild!!

Here he is looking like Bear Grylls.

To be honest, this day out came at the perfect time for me. The last week of uni has been incredibly intense and a day with my family was a welcome break.

I also slept all night long! Must have been all that fresh air.

Thanks for reading today’s post guys! It was just a short one to show off my day out… Hope you enjoyed!

If you did, don’t forget to give it a¬†like, leave a¬†comment and¬†follow¬†my blog by joining my mailing list!

Hello everyone,

Where have I been?! Truthfully, studying.

I’ve had a few issues with my site recently and it’s meant that I wasn’t able to put up posts until I got it sorted. But now I’m back!

With a new Christmassy theme! Let me know what you think in the comments!!

I’m starting ‘my return’ off with a bang and discussing the recent Twitter scandal concerning Zoella and Jack Maynard. And wow, there is a lot to say.

Recently it’s come out that both of these YouTubers made homophobic or racist tweets in the past. And fans have been going crazy.

Personally when I saw these tweets going around, I was upset. Although I don’t personally, I have friends and family who identify as gay and seeing comments like these from people that I admire was upsetting. I wasn’t exactly angry… I just felt really sad.

I’ll admit that I’ve never watched a Jack Maynard video. I’ve seen him in a few collabs (with the likes of Joe Sugg, Oli White and Caspar Lee) but I’ve never actively sought out his channel and watched his content.

Zoe, however, I’ve been a fan of for years. She is pretty much the person who inspired me to start both this blog and my YouTube channel.

So when I saw about this Twitter scandal it left me a bit confused as to how to react.

First of all, I agree that Jack has left ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’. That feels like the right decision for him as, now that he’s not in the jungle, he can respond to what’s being said about him and explain the situation.

Zoe’s situation is different in that she has responded – to both the hate about her Advent Calendar prices and her homophobic comments – but now has taken a break from social media to avoid the nasty things being thrown at her.

Both of these people were wrong. That is undisputed, but we have to remember that it was years ago. They have both now matured and become respectable, sensible adults who obviously know better.

I think the social media reaction is extremely justified and the apologies given were just needed.

However I will not stop watching, or supporting, Zoe.

When I was younger, I know for a fact that I said things I now regret. I will have made racist and homophobic comments without understanding completely the effect I was having.

It’s true that Zoe and Jack were older than me when they made these comments but after all,¬†we are only human.

Thank you for reading today’s post, I really hope you enjoyed it. Maybe you don’t agree with me but this is my personal opinion on the situation.

I will be returning to my normal blogging schedule from now on and you guys can expect 3 posts a week up until the 1st of December…¬†when I’ll be posting everyday for BLOGMAS.

I’m so excited to confirm this but yes, I will be participating in Blogmas this year! I will also be doing Vlogmas on my YouTube Channel, so make sure you’re¬†subscribed¬†and ready!

If you enjoyed this post, remember to give it a like, leave a comment letting me know what you think and sign up to my mailing list for more posts like this!

Hello everyone,

It’s that time again when I show you all my October Favourites. And believe me, there’s a lot.

October has been such an interesting month. I’ve started my exams, applied for University in Milan and grown my YouTube channel from 4 to 21 Subscribers! (THANK YOU!!)

My mental health has been a bit of a struggle this month but I’m getting by. I’ve been getting a lot more worked up about little things, including uni work, something I talk about in my last¬†post.

Anyway, enough about that. Let’s get on to the bit that you’re really interested in!

My October Favourites

I have so many this month so get you’re cup of tea ready and settle in…

1. Stranger Things 2

My opinion? WOW.

When this series was being built up, I didn’t think it would be as good as it is. All the hype and excitement seemed way too good to be true.

However, George and I watched the whole series at once – literally in one sitting from 2pm until 10pm (sorry Mum and Dad, I am working I swear) – and it was incredible.

Some people have criticised the show but I think the way it was acted and written was almost 10x better than Series 1.

Emma’s Rectangle described this a lot better than me in her October Favourites video. Go check it out!

2. Grey Lipstick

jess photo

This is definitely a controversial one. George has told me he doesn’t like it and Sam says he does.¬†What’s your opinion?

I bought this Rimmel ‘Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick’ in the shade ‘Shadow 850’ for just ¬£5.99. Being a student, the low price is very important.

Not only did this look great on Halloween but I’m hoping to use it during Winter too…¬†STAY TUNED!

3. The Body Shop’s ‘Banana’ Shampoo and Conditioner

I’ll be honest: I only bought this because there was no Coconut…

However I was pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous and fruity smell that it gives your hair.

The¬†Shampoo¬†and Conditioner don’t smell like real bananas but rather those foam sweets you could get when I was little… You know which ones I mean.

They leave my hair feeling extremely silky and soft. I would definitely recommend you purchasing it!

4. ‘Sophdoesnails x Revolution’ Eyeshadow Palette

(It’s really dirty, I’m sorry.)

Yes, I go on about this palette.

No, I won’t stop for a while.

This palette is the best thing that has happened to my makeup collection in a very long time. It’s extremely pigmented, has a wide range of colours and is incredibly wearable!

I pretty much wear this on my eyes everyday. If you want to see my initial reaction to the palette, click here!

5. ‘Riverdale’ Season 2

Another TV programme but I just had to mention it.

I won’t give you any spoilers but I have been completely addicted to the second series. It’s so much darker, more mysterious and is definitely all about the drama!

Riverdale is the perfect programme to watch if you want to chill out. I know I said there’s drama but it’s not heavy and is perfect to watch as you snuggle up in bed.

6. False Nails

I know you’re thinking two things right now:

  1. They’re so bad for your nails!

  2. Isn’t she supposed to be saving?

Well, yes and yes. However I budget them into my weekly spending allowance and… yeah I have no come back for the first one.

I have been in Boots this month buying cute nails galore! They just make everything so much easier as I have no time to paint my nails.

It’s sad but true.

7. Being Vegan

Now I’ll admit, I haven’t been doing this very well. Every time I push myself to do it, however, I love it.

The food is actually really tasty and super easy to cook. Also, it’s surprisingly easy to get all the sufficient nutrients etc (which I didn’t think it would be!)

If you’re tempted to go Vegan but aren’t sure, I was inspired by Unjaded Jade’s ‘Why I Went Vegan’ video.

I’m challenging myself, from today, to eat Vegan for the rest of November so we’ll see how that turns out!!

8. Cosy ‘Mustard’ Jumpers

Finally, I know I mentioned it in my last Favourites, but I’m really loving the mustard jumpers.

They’re so cosy and look great this time of year! I won’t ramble on but make sure to check out my post about them here.

So that’s everything for today, I hope you enjoyed it!

If you did, don’t forget to¬†give it a like, leave a comment and sign up for my mailing list!

I’M SO STRESSED! | Uni Diary #2

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to my ‘Uni Diary’ segment of the blog where I talk to you all about university life!

This week, rather than giving you advice, I’m going to rant a little.

Some of you have told me that you enjoy hearing me rant etc. You’re probably going to regret saying that.

Basically, I’m really stressed out.

As you saw in the title of this post, my life is no longer super boring. Instead, it’s hectic. Really hectic.

I found this picture on Pinterest and thought it accurately summed up the way I’m feeling right now (the hands are all of my assignments).

Last week, I had to sort out all my paperwork for my Year Abroad placement and chase around a lecturer who could only be bothered to do her job when I mentioned my OCD.

Did that last sentence sound passive aggressive? Sam tells me I can be very passive aggressive (he’s brave).

She was supposed to have nominated me for my placement 6 months ago but only sent off the application last Monday… 10 days after the deadline.

(Luckily the University abroad are okay with it)

I want to tell you that I’m as put together as I look on Instagram. But I’m not.

It’s terrifying to think that all of my deadlines are coming up and exams are around the corner.¬†Not even around the corner, they’re right in front of me staring at me.

My work load is getting bigger and bigger by the day, so much so that I can barely keep up with it. And that really stresses me out.

I have to say though, blogging really helps.

You guys are all so supportive and make me feel so special. I know that you won’t mind me writing this post about being stressed out… I hope!

This blog post didn’t really say anything. I just wrote. However, if you enjoyed it show your support by¬†liking, commenting and subscribing to my email list!

I love you all,

Eva x

Hello everyone,

I haven’t written anything for my blog in such a long time! I’m really sorry but don’t worry, I have plenty lined up for you all in the next few days.

As I’m sure you know, if you’ve visited this blog before, I am currently in my second year of university and I’ll be honest: I’m struggling.

Exams have officially started today and I don’t feel prepared. It just seems way too soon to be sitting exams that count so much towards my final grade.

Unfortunately, I can’t change the exam schedule. I can however try and reduce my stress levels that tiny bit!! And hopefully reduce yours a bit too…

My Tips for Coping with Exam Stress

Exams are tough. You don’t even need to have mental health issues to find them difficult – but that doesn’t help believe me!

Fortunately, I have come up with 5 top tips on how to prepare yourself to walk into that exam room and feel relaxed… sort of.

1. Exercise

I understand that exercise is the most awful thing known to man, but unfortunately it does actually help.

If I have time, I like to do a Yoga routine before the exam. It’s not crazy hard exercise but it stimulates your brain enough that you feel more awake and energised.

(You can skip this step if you want, I get it.)

2. Tea / Coffee

It doesn’t have to be a specific type, but allowing yourself to relax with your friends is incredibly important before an exam.

Most people would say that they have to be in the library studying, right up until when the exam starts. However, my mum always told me:

If you don’t know it the hour before the exam, you’re not going to know it. No matter how hard you cram.

She’s totally right. I find it’s best to go and get coffee and distract yourself. If you sit and worry, all that will happen is you will stress yourself out so much and will not perform well.

Just relax, have a drink (not alcohol please) and enjoy the free time you have.

3. Music

Is anybody else in love with this picture?!

Listening to music is such a good distraction before an exam. I know a girl who literally walks along the street singing loudly along to what’s playing on her headphones.

You don’t have to do that though, don’t worry.

I just find it so helpful to completely zone out and listen to music right before I go into the exam room. Or perhaps in the morning as I’m getting ready. It just distracts your mind from the exam stress.

4. Eat Something

George and I love to get free bagels from the cafe at uni. We can save up points every time we buy a coffee (which is a lot) and get a free lunch. Amazing.

I chose this picture from Pinterest however because it looks delicious. And that’s the point.

Find some food that you love and eat it. You’ll calm yourself down with the distraction of delicious food and will stop your stomach rumbling throughout the exam!

5. Look Good and Feel Comfortable

I know that personally, when I’m in an exam, I have to feel comfortable with the way I look. If I do, I’m less easily distracted.

The worst thing you can do is feel so self conscious about your appearance that you can’t concentrate on the exam.

Don’t go full ‘glam’: you still want to be comfortable – I find that a jumper and jeans is the best thing. Spend a little more time on your makeup too, get your face feeling perfect!

Basically, if you look and feel good, you are bound to perform better.

So that is everything for today’s post, I really hope you enjoyed it and found it useful. Exam season is super stressful but I know that these little things help me so much on the day of an exam!

If you did enjoy this post, give it a¬†like¬†and¬†leave a comment below letting me know your own ways to de-stress before an exam! You can also subscribe to my email list using the ‘Follow Blog‘ button at the bottom of your screen.

Hello everyone,

Recently, there’s been one thing flying around the internet that has become an Autumn Fashion sensation:

New Look’s Mustard Yellow Oversized Jumper.

If you’re not an internet addict like me, you’ll probably have no idea what I mean. However, you’ll definitely have seen someone wearing this. I’m sure of that!

I do love this jumper. Not only is it flattering, but it gives you a little splash of colour in a season where the colours are usually quite dark. They are in my wardrobe, anyway!

3 Ways to Style the Jumper

If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to wear this as much as possible, but with as much variety as possible. So here are three ways I would style it!

Classic Ripped Jeans Look

Ripped blue jeans are the wardrobe staple of 2017. Period.

They’re comfy and stylish and, in this case, dress down the jumper a little to give you a more casual feel!

You can’t forget the white trainers! Again, another staple of 2017 (and 2016 for that matter) they are an essential to every outfit. You just can’t go wrong.

Black Leggings / Disco Pants

How can person go wrong with leggings? Mine are more like disco pants but it’s true all the same. They’re comfy but can look almost sophisticated if you wear them with the right shoes…

That’s right, I’m wearing my trusty black Primark pumps again. They’re just so cute and literally only cost ¬£3!

A Cute Little Blue Skirt

Also from New Look. I don’t shop anywhere else apparently!!

This skirt was added to my collection last Spring and I’ve worn it as much as possible ever since! It looks so cute with this jumper and gives your outfit a little ‘girly’ feel!

So that is everything for today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it! I suppose this is my first ever Autumn Lookbook? Maybe? Give it a¬†like if you this so!

If you did enjoy this and want to see more like it, you can subscribe to my blog’s email list through the ‘follow blog‘ button at the bottom of your screen! Or, if you’re a WordPress reader, just click the¬†‘Follow’ button!

My OCDiary #1 – FOOD

Hello everyone,

I’ve not been able to film anything for my YouTube channel (link at top of page) today so I’ve decided to put up a blog post instead!

Today, I’m creating a new segment of Styled by Eva: ‘My OCDiary’. I saw this hashtag on Twitter and it didn’t have anything to do with OCD but I had to use it.

Every so often I’m going to do a little OCDiary talking about the different things that go on in my head. Today’s segment is:

My Love/Hate Relationship with Food

This is me. I’m in Seville in this picture. It was taken during the week when I decided I wouldn’t let this thing beat me. (Thanks to my uncle, who I wrote a post about last month.)

I suppose it all started when I was 15. That seems a long time ago! I was absolutely obsessed with all things Rock music and in particular, the band Black Veil Brides.

But that’s not what I want to talk about.

When I was 15 I actually had a real issue with food. Now, I know this will surprise any family members reading this (because believe me, I hid it very well) but it’s true.

I was terrified of getting fat. Literally.

The funny thing was that healthy eating never crossed my mind. Instead, I would try my best to starve myself and then end up binging on chocolate and crisps.

And I basically inhaled any meal my mum gave me. It felt so good to eat and I really enjoyed it but then afterwards I would beat myself up about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t anorexic. I attempted bolemia but I felt so guilty every time I tried that I had to stop.¬†Thank God.

I ended up eating rubbish, counting calories and sitting crying in my room at night thinking I was the size of a house. It carried on for years and I still struggle with my size today.

I wished I had an eating disorder just so that I could be thin.

When I looked in the mirror, I saw a girl who was huge. Now, I see a girl who was way too thin.

This is the girl I am today. I have a healthier relationship with food and with my body.

Nobody should feel bad enough about their body that they wish they had an eating disorder. I’m lucky that I never did anything drastic but I’m convinced that this was the beginning of my mental health struggle.

Thank you for reading today. If you are struggling with anything similar to how I felt, just know that an eating disorder is never the answer.

You are beautiful no matter what your size.

I love you all,

Eva x

The Perfect Autumnal Outfit | UNI

Hello everyone,

Today’s post is going to show you all the perfect Autumnal outfit that I love wearing to uni. If you’re anything like me, you don’t turn up in your tracksuit to lectures:¬†you like to make an effort.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dress up like I’m off out! I like to make myself look presentable so that I look and feel good.

Believe me, when I’m having a down day I always have Sam push me to get dressed up. The worst thing about depression is the self-depreciating thoughts – you don’t need to feel horrible about the way you look too.

The Outfit: Easy, Comfortable and Stylish

It’s such a simple look but it’s always effective in making you look good!

These green coulottes still work in the Autumn, believe it or not! I found these in New Look in June for around £15 and they make the transition from Summer to Autumn perfectly.

Primark is always good for black jumpers. This one is a little more exciting, however, with a cross back to spice things up a bit. You’d probably have to wear this with a jacket because of the cold, but when you’re inside this look is awesome!

The perfect addition to this jumper is my New Look bomber jacket. I wear this all the time and it goes so well with everything. I bought it off ASOS last year for £29.99 and there are so many out there right now Рyou need to get one.

Whether you’re a fan of heels or not, I would recommend trying these. They’re actually comfy. I wore them around Paris for a long weekend I spent there with Sam and George, and my feet didn’t ache!¬†Amazing.

They cost me £15 from New Look (at sale price) and are a definite must for your Autumn wardrobe.

The Makeup: Simple, Quick and Awesome

For my base I used:

  • The Body Shop ‘Fresh Nude’ Foundation (+ Darkening Drops) in the shade ‘Bora Bora’
  • Collection ‘Lasting Perfection’ Concealer in the shade ‘1 – Fair’
  • The Body Shop Pressed Powder Foundation
  • MUA ‘Bronzed Perfect’ Bronzer

This eyeshadow look was created with the new ‘Soph x Revolution’ Palette. I love this thing. The colours I used are ‘Mug Cake’ and ‘Pug’. Such an easy, simple look that’s quick and looks great.

I also had to include my absolute favourite NYX Brown Matte Lipstick! This is my every day favourite makeup item – because it looks amazing!

So that’s everything for today’s post! I hope you liked the outfit and are inspired to recreate it yourself!

For Autumn, the colours green and black are part of my essential wardrobe. They create stunning looks that can be appropriate for both night and day. Try it, you’ll love it.

If you enjoyed this post, please give it a like and leave a comment letting me know what you think of this look! It’s the first of many to come so sign up to my mailing list for more…

Hope you enjoyed,

Awesome Bobble Hats this Autumn

Hello everyone,

I’m sorry this post is going up really late but I wanted it up on Monday like I promised! Just a little later than 5pm today…

Today’s post is about my top three Bobble Hats that I’m obsessed with this Autumn. Two of them are from TopShop (of course) and the third is a brand new one from Asda.

These hats are perfect for those cold, rainy, autumnal days where you have to go out but all you want to do is stay in bed. You know which ones I mean.

So without further ado, these are my favourite hats this season!

Asda’s Pink Hat (Breast Cancer Awareness)

I had to put this hat first because I’m obsessed with it!

When Sam and I were in Asda the other day, we found this hat amongst a little range created in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness Charity.

This charity is close to my heart as for the past few months, my grandma has been bravely battling breast cancer. Fortunately, she has just been given the ‘all clear’ and is back out and about – enjoying life as she should be!

I wanted to buy this hat as not only is it super cute, but it donates money to a worthy cause. This is a perfect way to support the cause but also, for me personally, the wonderful, strong and beautiful lady that is my Grandma. (I love you lots xx)

TopShop Burgandy Hat

If you saw my September Favourites you will recognise both this hat and this picture.

This hat is so cool and cute. It may well clash with my hair but, to be honest, I don’t care!

I am in love with the look this hat creates. The burgandy colour goes with so many different outfits and looks great if you’re having a bad hair day!!

TopShop Blue Hat

I’m sorry for the bad quality photo! Turns out this is the only one I have of this hat because I haven’t worn it yet this year! SHOCKING.

This photo was taken on my friends phone in Liverpool at Christmas last year. I actually think this was the exact day I bought it! How’s that for good blogging, eh?

The blue of this hat caught my eye instantly and I just had to buy it. It’s not your average plain colour but nonetheless I love it.

Surprisingly, you can pair this with more outfits than you’d think – so that’s a bonus!

So that is everything for today’s post! I really hope you enjoyed it and love the hats yourselves.

I think bobble hat’s are an Autumn essential!¬†Do you?¬†Let me know down in the comments.

If you enjoyed this post, give it a like, let me know in the comments and subscribe to my blog for email updates every time I post! You won’t regret it!!

My September Favourites

Hello everyone,

It’s that time again! September has been a great month full of new things and excitement. Well, I was excited.

I started my second year of uni this month and believe me, that was both terrifying and exciting. Seeing my friends again and beginning my studies has been so lovely. It does feel a bit like coming home. (Sorry mum!)

Being a student, my budget doesn’t allow me to buy all the new beauty products and fashions etc, however I have managed to compile a bunch of my favourite things together for you to see!

This has to be my first favourite of the month because, since I’ve been back at uni, I have had a Starbucks every day.

Don’t get me wrong, I know they’re expensive but my budget allows me to spend a little and help my caffeine cravings! So why not?!

My favourite drinks are the Chocolate Frappuchino (with soya milk, obviously) and just a regular Black Coffee. The latter is a perfect study companion – especially for 9am lectures!!

My Mustard Yellow Jumper

If you follow my Instagram and Twitter¬†you’ll already have seen and heard a lot about this jumper. If not – where have you been?!

I bought this from New Look at the beginning of the month and love it so much. I’ve pretty much worn it non-stop!

The mustard colour is so beautiful for Autumn and the material is incredibly soft. It’s a must-have for this season at ¬£19.99. Plus, if you’re a student you get some great discount!

Dark Blue Jeggings with Brown Boots

This is a little snap that I put on my Instagram a couple of weeks ago when I first discovered this style.

Obviously, it’s standard knowledge that you should always pair brown with blue. I knew that. However, my new jeggings from Boohoo happen to look AMAZING with my cute brown boots! (Also from Boohoo!)

I wore this for a meal out with my family but have also worn it for casual days out with friends. Simple but stylish.

Ripped Jeans and Bobble Hats

Another outfit I’ve loved was only actually discovered the other day! However I’m already obsessed.

I wore this for a day out with Sam to Llandudno the other day. It rained so badly but my hair was pretty much saved by the hat! I did have a coat but took it off for the photo because it didn’t fit my aesthetic…!

By the way, my jumper is just a random one I found on Amazon a few years ago. I love it and I’m sure it’s still available!

Primark Hoop Earrings

I have worn hoop earrings literally every day this month. Literally.

They look absolutely amazing. I love how much they glam up an outfit and how cheap they are! Obviously you can buy more expensive ones but these cost me around £1 for a set of three. I also bought another set of pastel coloured earrings for about £2.

You can see the earrings and their actual prices in my ‘Back to Uni Haul‘ on my YouTube Channel: Styled by Eva.

My Photo Collage

Yes, I know this is an old one but I just had to make a collage like this!

My uni room was looking a little bare in one corner, so what better way to spruce it up than to make a photo collage?

It was super simple to make and took about 10 minutes. I just found a template on Pinterest and copied it. Sooo simple.

Coffee and Catch Ups with Friends

When we were taking this photo, I was trying to pose with my coffee cup and ended up laughing at George. Fortunately the photo came out better than I thought!

As I’ve just started at uni again, I have been catching up with friends so much. It’s been an intense couple of weeks but having little coffee breaks with friends is a welcome treat.

Again, my favourite drink is a Black Coffee. What else?

So that is everything that I’ve loved this month! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, it’s something I love doing and hope you do too!

As you may have noticed, my blogging schedule has changed and I am putting up posts every Monday and Friday. I have stopped my Wednesday posts because of the uni schedule being so intense!

And I’ve only been there for a week!

If you enjoyed this post, please give it a like and follow my blog for more posts like this. Also leave a comment letting me know: What have you been loving this month?

Thanks for reading,
